Update: Disney has currently
suspended this program. There is no word on when and if the program will resume...
For those who have completed one of the main Programs,
the International Management Program offers an opportunity to return
to the Resort for 18 months and further your experience and training.
This is a considerably smaller program than the others, and hiring
tends to be sporadic - there are limited positions and they only
hire when one of those positions becomes available.
Applicants must meet all the normal International
Program qualifications, and in addition must be fluent in Japanese,
Portuguese, French, or German, and have education and/or
experience in the hospitality industry. Management experience is
a plus, but not a requirement. Strong leadership skill are an expected
requirement.
Particpants will work in hospitality and F&B operational
management positions at the resorts or parks. You will be assigned
to a specific discipline for the entire contract - depending on
previous experience it may be F&B, Front Office or Housekeeping.
Duties include attending classes, in-costume training, shift supervisor
roles, and completing a Personal Development Plan.
Training and development begins upon arrival with
a Learning Plan consisting of mandatory classes and self-paced learning
leading to full training in Disney Leadership Values.
Particpants are classed as regular full time salaried
CMs, so weekly gross compensation is $580 (subject to change). Standard
Disney medical coverage is included. The company takes care of visa
fees and round trip airfare, and also gives you a $1500 resetlement
allowance. What you need to provide is a car, housing, and your
own professional attire. Disney can assist with finding housing
when you first arrive.
It is important to note that while this program does
offer full-time salaried employment for the 18 months of the contract,
it is still on a J-1 visa and cannot lead to permanent employment
at WDW, although it sets you up nicely for employment at Disney
Stores or Disney Cruise Line.
